Finding your feetFinding Your Feet (46A Publications)

A series of brochures on walk routes in and around South County Dublin.  Research included recces of the urban, coastal, and upland terrain in the vicinity of Dublin, and identifying the local history and architecture, geology and ecology on these hikes.

 

 

 

 

 

“Hors Limites” (Circa Art Magazine)
Discussion of an exhibition of avant-garde art.
Research included interviews with curator and artists as well as reading primary and secondary sources.

An Enigmatic Artist – Seán Ó Riada in Paris (RTÉ Lyric FM).
In February 1955 a certain John Reidy, later to become the phenomenon known as Seán Ó Riada, reached crisis point. This is his story.

John Ford made a film of it, Percy French wrote a song about it, and, then Luke made an award-winning documentary about it.  Behind the legend lies the rich folk memory of a railway that witnessed all of human life in a corner or Ireland.  Most of the research was done in the field, interviewing people in Clare and Limerick.

Church in Chains St Stephen’s Day Service RTÉ One
A service introducing the issues faced by persecuted Christians round the globe (TX 26.12.10)

Mícheál Ó Chíosóg (Midas Productions)
A half-hour documentary for TG4 on the life of the GAA’s founder.    Visual and textual archival research.

 

 

 

Old Irish (Little Bird Films)
Developed for broadcast in the US and Britain, this 6-part series
investigated ancient cultural practices and forms in Ireland and their
survival in modern culture. Research included desk research,
gathering secondary sources, arranging interviews and trawling folk archives.

Tír na nÓg (Nant Films)
A half-hour television documentary on Irish myths and traditions for C4 Cymru. Recce research.

Castlebar Campus (Telegael Teo)
Produced for distribution in secondary schools, this video aimed to introduce the unique courses and modern facilities of the newly-opened Castlebar Campus of Galway Institute of Technology.  Desk research; recces and interviews.
